With great sadness, Bulfinch announces the passing of our Chairman Emeritus, S. Lawrence Schlager. For nearly 25 years, Larry played an integral role in the company’s operations and success. He was President and CEO for 21 years, before turning the positions over to his sons, Eric and Robert, in 1992. We will all miss his friendship, guidance and value-oriented investment advice, and wisdom.

Formerly a committed board member of the AUSPL (Association of United States Postal Lessors) and United States Trust Company (UST Corp.), he played an active role in the Boston real estate investment industry for decades. Larry was passionate about giving back to the community where he served on numerous boards for a variety of charitable and religious organizations in both the Boston metropolitan area and Palm Beach, Florida.

He will be remembered for his incredible kindness, sense of humor and unwavering love for his family.  He will be deeply missed by his family, Bulfinch, and all those who he encountered during his lifetime.
