Bulfinch Announces Pamela Yang’s Appointment to the CFA Institute Board of Governors

BOSTON, MA – August 29, 2023

The Bulfinch Companies, Inc. (Bulfinch), a commercial real estate and investment firm, today announced its Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer, Pamela G. Yang, CFA, CPA, CGMA has been appointed to the Board of Governors of the CFA Institute, the highest governing authority of the CFA Institute.

CFA Institute represents the industry-gold standard for effective and ethical investment management practices. The educational programs are recognized and respected around the world as the ultimate commitment to clients’ best interests and firm success. The Chartered Fincnancial Analyst (CFA) credential is acknowledged as the most highly respected designation in the investment profession.

The Board of Governors is responsible for overseeing the Institute’s vision, mission, and strategy to provide leadership through a policy-based approach. With members from eight countries and four continents, The Board is composed of fourteen members. “I am incredibly honored and humbled to be nominated to join the Board of Governors and look forward to serving this beloved organization and helping to executive the CFA’s mission and vision for the future,” commented Yang.

As Bulfinch’s COO, Yang guides and leads daily operations for the firm, including assisting with strategic planning, providing oversight of the Boston office, and working closely with the Financial Reporting Team and Bulfinch leadership. Yang plays a key role in leading the development and implementation of the Bulfinch’s culture and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Yang’s leadership and commitment have driven meaningful team growth, and her focus on DE+I, has helped implement new initiatives and partnerships.

Yang has been a CFA charter holder for 20 years and has served in a variety of volunteer roles for the CFA Institute including as former Chair of Disciplinary Review Committee from 2018-2022, Executive Editor of In Practice section of Financial Analysts Journal from 2016-2018, a grader and captain for over 10 years and received the Volunteer of the Year award from the CFA Institute in 2015. From 2012 and 2018, Yang has also served on the CFA Society Boston’s Board including Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer as well as Chair of the Audit Committee.

In addition to the CFA Institute’s Board of Governors, she serves on the Executive Committee for the Boston Economic Club and is a trustee on the Board of Trustees for the Boston Ballet.  She is also an active member of numerous organizations including the Real Estate Finance Association (REFA), National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) and CREW (Formerly New England Women in Real Estate) Boston.
