First built in 1937 and occupied by Polaroid Corporation from the 1940s through the late 1990s, 784 Memorial Drive is a historic, four-story office building located on the banks of the Charles River with direct frontage on Memorial Drive between Harvard’s and MIT’s campuses. Bulfinch took advantage of a rare opportunity to acquire the distressed asset as part of Polaroid’s bankruptcy proceedings.


Bulfinch combined our expertise of the local tenant landscape with a successful record of working with the City of Cambridge on a series of proven development projects to reintroduce the property to the market post-Polaroid. Bulfinch’s approach allowed for flexible leasing to a myriad of tenants ranging from traditional office, to education and state-of-the-art technology companies.

Previously leased by Infinity Pharmaceuticals, the property is currently leased by Harvard University’s Information Technology Services Department. Bulfinch successfully delivered an asset at the hub of innovation for the past, the present, and the future.
