Bulfinch is proud to recognize Eric Schlager, CEO, Dave Sanchez, AVP, Tax Manager, and Steve Rizzuto, AVP, Property Manager, for participating in the 2026 Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC). Alongside thousands of cyclists, volunteers, and supporters, they rode to raise critical funds for cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
This year’s ride was especially meaningful as Eric celebrated his 26th year participating in the PMC, while Dave completed his fourth-year riding. Together with Steve, their commitment to the PMC reflects Bulfinch’s culture of community involvement, philanthropy, and making a lasting impact beyond the workplace.
What is the Pan-Mass Challenge?
The Pan-Mass Challenge is a Massachusetts-based bike-a-thon that raises more money for charity than any other single athletic fundraising event in the United States. Every year, on the first weekend of August, thousands of riders, volunteers, and supporters come together with one shared mission: to fund life-saving cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
A Legacy of Impact
Since its founding in 1980, the PMC has raised more than $1.125 billion for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund. Remarkably, 100% of every rider-raised dollar goes directly to cancer research and patient care, making the PMC Dana-Farber’s largest single contributor.
This year, the organization set its most ambitious fundraising goal yet: $79 million, continuing its mission to accelerate breakthroughs in cancer research and improve outcomes for patients and their families.
An Incredible Ride Across Massachusetts
The 2026 Pan-Mass Challenge took place on August 1–2, offering routes ranging from 25 to 177 miles. Cyclists of all experience levels participated, with the longest route beginning in Worcester and finishing in Provincetown, united by a shared commitment to making a difference.
