Bulfinch Wins Silver Award at the ACEC/MA Gala
April 28, 2008The Bulfinch Companies, Inc., a Needham-based real estate investment and development firm, is pleased to announce that it was presented a Silver Award at the annual American Council of Engineering Awards gala in April for its Cambridge Discovery Park project.
Each year, the ACEC/MA honors select construction, development, and engineering projects throughout the New England area that demonstrate the highest degree of engineering excellence and ingenuity.
The Bulfinch Companies, Inc. worked with the engineering firm BSC Group to design and construct the 129,000 SF Building 100 within Cambridge Discovery Park. Engineering challenges such as stormwater management, reclamation of green space and preservation of the historic Alewife Reservation were considered in the design of Building 100.
Cambridge Discovery Park, located adjacent to the Alewife T Station on Route 2, spans approximately 30 acres, and when completed, will constitute a total development of approximately 820,000 rentable square feet. Building 100 serves as the headquarters for high-profile research and lab tenants, the Harvard-Smithsonian Astrophysical Institute, and FoldRx.
Founded in 1936, Bulfinch is an entrepreneurial, value-added real estate investment firm specializing in the development, acquisition, management, and repositioning of commercial properties in greater Boston. Over the past several years, Bulfinch has developed, acquired and repositioned in excess of $500 Million of commercial real estate.
