Life Time Center Celebrates LEED Gold Rating
NEEDHAM, MA — November 21, 2017 —The Bulfinch Companies, Inc., a private real estate investment, development and management firm, today announced that Life Time Center has achieved LEED Gold Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Existing Buildings. The LEED Gold rating reinforces Bulfinch’s dedication to sustainable initiatives and the successful redevelopment of the former Atrium Mall into an innovative hub for medical and wellness users.
The state-of-the-art building successfully earned 65 LEED points exceeding the original target of LEED Silver Certification. Life Time Center features numerous sustainable design elements including large efficient floor plates, a sunlit atrium, fully renovated five-level 1,000+ car parking garage, a state-of-the-art “smart park system.” Other key sustainable features include indoor bicycle racks with dedicated shower facilities, car charging stations, preferred parking, recycling stations coupled with convenient access to public transit by way of a private Life Time Center shuttle to the MBTA Chestnut Hill green line. Adding to the sustainable transportation options, the property has a favorably high walk-score of 77, located just steps from over one million square feet of urban conveniences within three newly reinvented mixed-use developments.
