Kicking Off Change at Atrium Center in 2014

NEEDHAM, MASS.- February 7, 2014 - The Bulfinch Companies, Inc., a private
commercial real estate investment firm, kicked off 2014 with an open house event at Atrium Center at Chestnut Hill, to showcase the vision for the project, as well as the recent transformations that have taken place on-site. In sync with the Super Bowl just a few days later, radio personalities and New England Patriots alumni, Scott Zolak and Jermaine Wiggins, joined the 90+ attendees to celebrate the big game and the future of the project.

Atrium Center at Chestnut Hill, formerly the Atrium Mall, is a 286,000 sf state-of-the-art office center on Route 9 in Chestnut Hill, MA. Over the course of the past year, Bulfinch has spent an extensive amount of time demolishing all the retail suites to expose the large and open floor plates the building delivers, and has also added areas of floor-to-ceiling windows to allow the sunlight to fill the space as it will when occupied. At Atrium Center, tenants won't have to go far for their everyday conveniences, as the vision for the project is to create a sustainable city within a city onsite, which includes a full service fitness center, food-court style eatery, dry cleaner, wi-fi, sundry shop, bike-sharing program, Zipcar, and more.

“Today’s tenants warrant more and that is what we are delivering at Atrium Center.” stated Michael Wilcox, Director of Leasing at Bulfinch. “It’s state-of-the-art space with a tremendous offering of both on- and off-site amenities plus parking that could never be duplicated today elsewhere. This is a special project that we look forward to delivering to the market.”

Bulfinch acquired Atrium Center, 300 Boylston Street, in the summer of 2012 when other nearby mixed-use projects were just kicking off. Today, and just steps away from Atrium Center, those projects have come to fruition, and the area is flooded with an abundance of urban conveniences that today’s tenants demand including topnotch retailers, entertainment, dining options such as Del Friscos, Davios, Brio, Seasons 52, Panera, Shack Shack, SweetGreen, and multiple premier fitness options including Equinox, LA Sports Club, and SoulCycle. The immediate area has also benefited from the completion of a $15 million traffic improvements plan allowing traffic to flow smoothly in the area.

In a packed house, the leasing team comprised of Bulfinch and Transwestern RBJ presented the state-of-the-art redevelopment project and the extensive changes that have taken place over the past year. “Atrium Center is a unique opportunity for companies who are looking to attract top talent by offering unique space.” stated Bob Richards, Partner at Transwestern RBJ, “We have a flexible open floor plan with abundant natural light, plentiful covered parking and the best amenity package in the suburbs.”
